MAGIC Fashion Show in Las Vegas

I recently enjoyed a fun trip to sin city to attend the MAGIC fashion show at the Las Vegas Convention Center with the Boulder, Colorado designer, Baskit Wear.  With the gloomy reports of the failing economy the media has been so fond of making look much worse than it is, I was expecting to be about the only person present.  Nothing could be farther from the truth.  The convention center and its parking lots were packed, long lines formed at the designers booths to order the latest fashions.  Those I had the opportunity to speak with informed me that sales were up from the previous year.  As expected those who told me they had expanded or maintained their current level of advertising and marketing were giving me much more optimistic outlooks than those who had cut back.

After seeing the show, my theory is that if we could put a gag on the media for a month and give Americans a break from the daily dose of terror that lands on the breakfast table each morning and the country would move into the biggest economic boom in history (particularly considering the amount of bailout money that has been printed up and poured into circulation).

Always one for a long day, I found a very talented male model while in Vegas and took advantage of the hours after the show each day to work with him.  His name is Vili Uyema and he proved to be one of the more dedicated models who have stepped in front of my camera.  Some of the shots, both those taken for Baskit, and for my own projects, are included below.  Photos from this shoot will soon be made available on MarkStoutPhotography.com as prints and for licensing as stock photos.  If you don’t see them, please ask.
